Appeals Process for Rejected Manuscripts

The Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation (PJR) provides a formal appeals process for authors whose manuscripts have been rejected. Authors who believe that their manuscript was rejected due to a misunderstanding, misinterpretation, or procedural concern may submit a written appeal for reconsideration.

To initiate an appeal, the corresponding author must submit a detailed appeal letter to the editorial office within four weeks of the editorial decision. The appeal should include:

  1. The reason for contesting the editorial decision.
  2. A point-by-point response to the reviewers' and/or editors' comments, where applicable.
  3. Any additional information or clarification that supports the appeal.

Appeals will be reviewed independently by the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriate senior editorial member who was not involved in the original editorial decision. Additional expert opinion may be sought where considered necessary.

The outcome of the appeal will be communicated to the corresponding author in writing. The decision reached following the appeal shall be final, and no further appeals regarding the same manuscript will be considered.
